Look at me; no longer an aspiring artist. Now I'm an artist. My first song came out on Dec 1st, and I love the support I've gotten on it so far! Taking that big step to release my first song was super nerve-wracking. But now that I have, I can continue to release my music without worrying so much. So, now I'm on a journey to releasing music consistently and building to my album!
Writing an album is interesting. It's like writing for an era of my life. All of my songs have a similar energy, and I think that's why they go well together even though they're all different. Before starting this, I wondered how people did it. How do you write 7-15 unique songs that go well together? How do you have that in mind without making all the songs sound the same? Now I realize you may not have to. If you're writing/co-writing all of the songs, they will all fit together because they all have part of you. Albums from the same artist can be very different because they were written at separate points in their lives.
However, there isn't really a rule that says they need to be similar. If you're an artist with multiple styles, do you have to stick to just one? Can you order the songs so that they flow in one another? Even if the tracks are different genres but have a similar theme, they could still work. The lack of rules in art has a funny way of making things difficult.
But before I release my album for you all, I'll be releasing a couple more singles first so that you can get a feeling of who I am right now and what the album will be like. If you want more, I hope you'll listen to that too. Also, I'll be posting more videos of me producing it. This will be different from my YouTube series on production; smaller videos posted on Tiktok. So, If you follow me there, you can get a behind-the-scenes look at how everything is coming along.
I'll be releasing my next song in February (official date TBD). This song is called "Trust," and it's about finding yourself in a new relationship after a bad one and learning to trust again. More than anything, I want my songs to be relatable and to help people. I know I'm not the only one who has these thoughts and feelings, but others may think they are alone. So, I'll keep you updated on my journey. Until then, enjoy and share "Human!" You can click here to stream or watch the lyric video on YouTube.
