Mercedes is an Alternative R&B singer, songwriter, and producer from Philadelphia. She pulls influence from the production styles of Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Timberland, and Quincy Jones, while breaking the silence on the innermost thoughts of those who think they are alone.
Her love for music started when she was little. Growing up, her dad had four towering speakers in the corners of their living room to blast music through all day. The songs reached every room of the house clearly, and she could sing along at the top of her lungs. He would play artists like Michael Jackson, CeCe Winans, Sade, and Carlos Santana. Every thought and feeling she had, became attached to a song or tune, and now she wants to give people a similar experience.
Her latest single, "Breathe," was released on SoundCloud in March and will be available to stream on other platforms soon. It's a song about needing a break when life is overwhelming and mental health becomes a struggle.
