I've been writing songs and singing since I was a kid. I even took a poem book and turned them into songs. But, as with other aspects of my life, I couldn't shake my perfectionist nature. Every song I wrote and finished, I would either abandon or keep rewriting forever because it could always be better. Unfortunately, that type of thinking hasn't gotten me very far.
I always thought I should put quality over quantity. I decided I would wait until I had the perfect song before releasing any music. That only lead me down years of unfinished work. So, I thought I'm just going to write more and get better as I go. On Twitter, I started a 30-day songwriting challenge, where I write and complete a song, every day, for 30 days. So far, it has been 2 weeks, and I'm loving it. Twitter has a character limit, so I'm only posting 1 verse from the song per day.
I am still learning how to arrange music. I'm also saving to get everything copyrighted and mastered. But, if all goes smoothly, I'm going to release my EP this summer. I'm not sure how long the copyrighting process takes, so the official date is still TBD. Until then, I will be releasing beats other artists can use and videos of my covers. I hope you will stick around for what I have in the future!
