It's a new year! I'm excited to start this new year off right and set goals for myself. I look at last year and think, "I could've done a lot more." But the truth is I did a lot, especially compared to other years. I started TikTok, had a virtual concert, quit my 9-5, made a YouTube show, had a professional photo shoot, and released my first single. So I'm grateful for last year. But this year, I plan to step it up a notch.
Getting to this year was a lot for me mentally. Coming to terms with accepting some of my shortcomings and bad habits and looking for ways to correct them wasn't easy. But It was necessary. It started with me being hard on myself for not accomplishing enough. But I had to stop that because it wasn't helpful. I did a lot with no one pushing me or giving me ideas. I fought through my insecurities and came out the other end much happier.
This year I will be on a journey to increase my online presence, the content I put out there, and my overall music skills. I love myself and how comfortable I have gotten recently. Now that it's a new year and a new day, I feel it's full of new opportunities. Every hour I can start something new, try a new project, or just let myself be creative. I will try not to be tunnel-visioned with one project but let my work be well-rounded. There's nothing that I need to wait to do, and I couldn't wait to get started.
So, for me, this year is about self-improvement and building. I will be releasing more songs and an album. I now have lots more followers on TikTok, so I'm excited to post more content there. And I'm just happier overall. I've been so blessed and cannot express how grateful I am to God for the opportunities I have and the ideas he's given me.
I hope this blog entry has given you more hope in this new year. It's been hectic in the world lately. But that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of good out there.
