Growing a music career is sometimes just like growing any other business. To do this, you need to know your brand. A brand message should describe who you are, what you create, and what makes you unique. Everyone is unique in their own way. But it can be hard to put into words why. This is something I've had a hard time with until recently.
What makes me different from other people artists? What message am I trying to tell? How am I going to sell myself to my audience? Who even is my audience? Sometimes it takes help to answer these questions and a lot of self-reflection. It isn't enough to just say you make music and that you sing. Your audience wants to know who you are and what makes you, you. And when you find it, it doesn't have to be permanent. Your brand will grow as you do. So, here it goes.
I'm a girl from Philly who grew up in a house where music was played loudly all day long. It became a part of everything I did and made me feel like I could be a part of it. My music is mainly R&B, with inspiration from other genres like pop, electronic, and orchestral. My goal is to create music that people can feel they are a part of. I may sing things out loud that you think but don't say because a song doesn't have to just be a song. It can represent a part of you. I'm also someone who loved being in school, and I still love learning today. So as a producer, I'm trying to get better every day. Learning about engineering and sound design excites me.
Of course, you can also find out more about who I am by just reading these blogs, and I honestly hope these help you get to know me. I have other ideas as well that I'll be launching soon.
Once I put this together, it became easier for me to create a clear plan for myself of what I will make and release, goals I have, how I'll achieve them, and why I wanted to achieve those goals. I needed to know for myself before trying to tell others.
